Richlands Field in Progress
The Richlands High School Football field project is coming together at a quick pace. On Wednesday June 25th a small ceremony was held for the placement of a time capsule. In attendance were members of the Tazewell County School Board, the Mayor of Richlands, and EMATS General Manager Carl “Skip” Hale. Approximately 100 children from Richlands High School, the Richlands Middle and Elementary schools also attended the event. The drainage system has been constructed, and all of the geotextile fabric has been placed. As of Friday June 27th, more than half of the field was graveled with 57’s. It is anticipated that the first lift of stone will be complete early this week. The installation of the artificial turf should begin soon. |
